When I was brought on, Deloitte’s performance in the entertainment sector was weak. My challenge as a member of the leadership team was to help bring the practice to prominence. Key target for the work was a deeper penetration of the firm into the studio and post-production market. Content piracy prevention and reduction was the remit from the world’s premier entertainment company, home of the most respected and beloved brands around the globe. This business was experiencing high levels of content piracy in both theatrical and digital distribution.
Senior Manager, Entertainment, Media & Communications
My specific area of focus in the entertainment, media and communications (EMC) space was a result of nearly a decade of organization development work in this highly competitive arena. I played an integral part in building relationships with key strategic clients, developed go-to-market strategies and delivered results to clients while recruiting and developing talent, which made for a very full calendar.
My team worked on evaluating security practices throughout the studio from early-stage content to completed content. Working together with senior executives, we determined key vulnerabilities that required immediate attention, developed recommendations and a clear action plan for resolution. Within a few months we had plugged many of the security holes and worked closely with the key industry associations to deploy anti-piracy measures. Enhanced asset security put in place significantly reduced loss of physical assets in transit as well as state-of-the-art digital security protection.
